How Do I Manage My Crypto Portfolio?

What is a portfolio even?

When I started investing in crypto, I had no idea what the word portfolio even meant.
It sounded like something for professional investors — or at least people with a lot more money and experience than me. And I didn’t even know I was ” managing” something.

I didn’t know how to organise my investments. I just bought Bitcoin and then hoped it would go up and I’d get magically rich. No plan. No system.

Today I want to take some time to explain to you how we can “manage” your investments. So I wrote down a few steps for you to take before you do anything. Follow along for an optimal outcome:

1 Know what amount you want to invest

How much do you have to invest? I suggest you simply start with 50 or 100 EUR and keep it at that until you have deeply understood what you are doing. Yes I am serious. In my classes you can learn how to do that with small risk and with confidence. Sign up here to know when the next class will start.

2 Know your next goal

If you are just starting out, your first goal will be to just understand what you are doing. To understand how Bitcoin works and how your wallet gets installed. How the technical side of it works and also to understand how much you would like to invest within the next weeks, months or year.

So figure out a plan of 6 to 12 months first. What you want to know by then and maybe how much money you want to have invested

3 Create a plan on how you can work towards this goal

In my first bull market, I wasted time on too many alts. I should have kept it simple — Bitcoin and Ethereum — rather than carrying dead weight

So when I started and worked myself through my first bullmarket I lost alot of time with Alts and unnecessary weight when I could just have taken int easy with buying only Bitcoin and Ethereum. For example. You decide what assets you want to buy but I personally suggest you should keep things very, very simple in the beginning.

I didn’t have a goal other than being rich. OF course I made alot of mistakes. Today, I would write down these things:

  • How much money do I have to invest. Be very very conservative. A few bucks a week. Not more.
  • How much time do I have at hand to take care of my portfolio? Yes it takes time every week or month.
  • Do I want to buy only Bitcoin and keep things super easy or do I want to buy a few Altcoins also. If so, how many. I suggest maximum 10, better less.
4 Track what you have

Of course you will track it. You will check it every 3 hours right? No, that’s not a good idea and you will be wasting alot of time. Buy a nice new notebook for starters and write down your assets and the equivalent in your currency at that time.

Example:

01.03.2025 (today)

0.0001 Bitcoin – 10.50 EUR or our currency

0.001 Ethereum – 8.90 EUR or your currency

Don’t laugh please. We all start very small especially if we have absolutely no clue about what we are doing. Then, in one month from now or 2 months you can write down what you own again. Maybe you bought more until then and so you will keep track of it all.

With time, you’ll start to see a picture forming — not just of your numbers, but of your progress. Managing your portfolio doesn’t mean checking prices every day; it means knowing what you own and why. The more clarity you have, the calmer you’ll feel — even when the market moves wildly.

5 This is so easy!

Soon, you’ll realise that “managing” your portfolio simply means staying aware of what you own and keeping it organised. That’s all, really.

You don’t need a big budget or fancy spreadsheets — just clarity, patience, and a simple plan. Start small, stay consistent, and learn as you go.
